Raiders waived S Rashaan Gaulden.
Gaulden was limited to two special teams appearances last year but played in 25 games between the Panthers and Giants the previous two seasons. The 2018 third-rounder should resurface before training camp.
Gaulden was promoted from New York's practice squad Wednesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Gaulden only has three tackles this season, in nine games, and only recently joined the Giants' practice squad. He last played for the Panthers in their 34-31 loss to New Orleans in Week 12. Gaulden will take the spot of Janoris Jenkins, who was released because of offensive tweets.
The Panthers waived Gaulden on Monday, Max Henson of the team's official site reports.
Gaulden made two notable errors during Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Saints, and his tenure with the Panthers appears to have run dry as a result. The 2018 third-round pick's collision with D.J. Moore on a punt return resulted in a turnover, and he later invoked an unnecessary roughness penalty after the result of a kick return. The 24-year-old will look to catch on elsewhere in the league.
Gaulden (groin) was a full participant at practice Wednesday, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
Gaulden sat out the last two contests due to the groin issue but appears ready to go for Week 4. The 24-year-old figures to remain in his depth role at safety for the Panthers.
