Player News
Steelers G Ramon Foster announced his retirement.
Foster caught on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2009 and went on to start 145 games. This included at least 14 games from 2011-2019. Offseason reports indicated that Foster was a candidate to be released. PFF graded him as their No. 50 overall guard among 86 qualified players in 2019.
Foster (concussion) does not carry an injury tag for Thursday's divisional tilt against Cleveland, Missi Matthews of the Steelers' official site reports.
Foster sat out Pittsburgh's last two contests due to a lingering head injury, but he's now managed to fully clear the league's five-step concussion protocol. The 33-year-old veteran is on track to draw his usual start at left guard versus the Browns on Thursday.
Foster (concussion) was a full practice participant on Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Foster remains in the concussion protocol, but he is trending in the right direction for Thursday's tilt with the Browns. He has missed two games with the issue.
Foster (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Foster will miss his second straight game after entering the concussion protocol prior to Week 9. Matt Feiler, the Steelers' usual right tackle, will slide over to left guard in Foster's stead.
