Rams signed WR Quintez Cephus, formerly of the Lions, to the practice squad.
Cephus could work his way on the game-day roster but he’s had plenty of chances to prove himself worthy of a starting role in the past and never once cleared 350 receiving yards in a single season. He can be left on waiver wires at this time.
Texans released WR Quintez Cephus.
Cephus was signed as veteran depth on the eve of training camp. Still somehow only 26 years old, Cephus has caught just three balls since the 2021 season.
Texans signed Quintez Cephus, formerly of the Bills.
Cephus spent about a month with the Bills before the team opted to part ways with the former fifth-rounder. Cephus is returning from a season-long gambling suspension that sidelined him for all of 2023 and hopes to latch onto a 53-man roster in training camp. He’s caught 37 passes for 568 yards and four touchdowns over three seasons and wouldn’t be anything more than added depth if he were to make the Texans.
Bills released WR Quintez Cephus.
Cephus’ release comes on the heels of the Bills signing safety Dee Delaney. Cephus was signed by the Bills shortly after being reinstated from a year-long suspension for violating the league’s gambling policy but clearly didn’t impress enough to remain with the team ahead of training camp. Cephus has caught 37 passes for 568 yards and four touchdowns in his three-year career and could earn another opportunity elsewhere ahead of training camp.
