Quentin Poling
Player News
The Raiders signed Poling to a contract Thursday.
Poling spent time on the Raiders' practice squad and active roster during the 2019 season, but he only played five snaps on special teams in his sole appearance with the team. He's facing long odds to carve out a depth role for the 2020 season.
Poling was waived by the Raiders on Saturday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Poling dressed in one game for Oakland but didn't record any statistics.
The Raiders promoted Poling to the 53-man roster Thursday.
With Arden Key (foot) on IR, the Raiders filled the extra roster spot with Poling, who hasn't suited up in an NFL game since entering the league in 2018. He has a chance to make his pro debut Thursday night against the Chargers. If he gears up, Poling will work into a reserve role with special-teams upside.
Poling (undisclosed) worked out for the Raiders on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Poling was recently released with an injury settlement from the Dolphins due to an undisclosed injury, but as evidenced by this news, seems to be fully healthy. The Ohio University product will hope to latch on with a team elsewhere, as he's yet to make his NFL debut since coming into the league in 2018.
