Since retiring in 2016, Manning has bounced from organization to organization informally taking notes on how teams are operated, particularly with scouting. There have been a few reports of Manning having offers to be a general manager, although the future Hall of Fame quarterback denies that a written offer has never been presented. It's clear that Manning has some degree of interest in an executive role, but it's unclear if he'll actually accept a position at any point in the near future. People around Manning believe he'd be better as a general manager than as a television analyst because of how much he likes being hands on. He will likely have offers to go in either direction for the next decade. In the meantime, Manning has commercials to film.

If you don't remember, Manning was thrown in a report along with several other players by Al Jazeera America back in December. After months of investigating, the NFL determined there was "no credible evidence" the allegations were true. Players like James Harrison, Julius Peppers, Clay Matthews, and the others should feel a sense of relief on Monday and feel like they can move forward in their careers. They had all submitted written statements declaring their innocence to the league office.

The future Hall of Famer seems to have made the right choice as he was able to make it to two Super Bowls in the Mile High City, winning one. It would have been a traumatic experience for Colts' fans to see Manning with another team in the division.
