Owa Odighizuwa
Player News
Giants are expected to activate DE Owa Odighizuwa off Injured Reserve on Saturday.
The Giants will be playing for pride on Sunday against the division rival Eagles. Owa Odighizuwa's rookie year has been riddled with various injuries, which have limited him to four games this year with only three total tackles. His injury history is what caused him to slide to the third round in the 2015 draft. He is more known for his run defense and was knocked for his pass-rushing abilities coming out of UCLA. Odighizuwa is a physical freak and could be a force with more training and an offseason under his belt. During his time at UCLA, Odighizuwa was second-team All-Pac-12, and led the Bruins with 11.5 tackles-for-loss and second in sacks with six.
Giants placed rookie DE Owa Odighizuwa (hamstring) on injured reserve-designated to return.
Odighizuwa will sit on the shelf now for a few weeks to let his hamstring heal while Cullen Jenkins and Kerry Wynn hold down the fort on the defensive line. Of course. Jason Pierre-Paul is still working his way back and should start to see some work in the coming weeks.
Owa Odighizuwa will practice Wednesday.
Good to see the Giants rookie back on the practice field. They could really use any help they can get on the defensive line especially when it comes to a pass rush. The Giants have only able to muster three sacks through three games this season.
Owa Odighizuwa (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game.
The Giants' third round pick is likely a week or two away from returning from a foot injury. He could be a big boost to the defense upon return.
