Player News
Stupar was cut by the Giants on Monday, Ralph Vacchiano of SNY reports.
Stupar was the odd man out as the Giants re-signed wideout Bennie Fowler with Sterling Shepard in concussion protocol. In three games this season, the linebacker has recorded four tackles (two solo).
Stupar may start at inside linebacker for Sunday's game versus the Vikings, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
The Giants have been torched by injuries at linebacker, so they are deciding between Stupar and Josiah Tauaefa to start alongside David Mayo. There's a chance both players log reasonable playing time considering Tauaefa is an undrafted rookie and Stupar hasn't had a consistent role since 2016.
Stupar will re-sign with the Giants on Tuesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Stupar was released by the Giants earlier this month. Unfortunately, injuries to both Alec Ogletree (hamstring) and Tae Davis (concussion) are testing the team's depth at linebacker. While he's far from a household name, Stupar, 31, is a veteran inside linebacker who actually spent last season with the Giants and collected 14 tackles in 16 games.
Stupar was released by the Giants on Friday.
Stupar appeared in all 16 games for the Giants last season, logging 14 total tackles. The seven-year-pro dealt has played for five teams in his career so far and now must try to find another opportunity elsewhere.
