Nate Allen
Player News
Nate Allen will likely start in place of Karl Joseph (toe) in Week 14.
Joseph ended up leaving the Raiders game early due to an injury to his big toe, and it appears as though he will not play on Sunday. Nate Allen will get the start in his place, and he doesn't represent a huge downgrade from Joseph. Allen was a significant contributor in Philadelphia from 2010-2014 where he started 54 games in four years and recorded seven interceptions.
Nate Allen (quad) will not play in Week 5 against the Chargers.
While a knee injury plagued Nate Allen last season into only five games, this time it's a quad injury. With the Raiders defense struggling so far this year, it'll be important that Brynden Trawick moves up in Allen's spot and holds his own while Allen is absent on their active list.
Nate Allen (quad) did not practice on Thursday.
Allen is currently listed as second string on the depth chart as the starting jobs at safety have been given to rookie Karl Joseph and veteran Reggie Nelson. The Raiders pass defense has been horrible so far, ranking dead last after four weeks. Joseph makes for a nice addition in IDP leagues.
Nate Allen have re-signed with the Raiders after being released earlier this week.
Most likely Allen's new deal will be a more team-friendly one than his previous four-year $23 million contract he signed prior to last season. Allen had a disastrous first go-around with the Raiders this past season, appearing in only five games and recording just seven tackles and one interception.
