Michael Hoomanawanui (ankle) hopes to be ready for offseason activities.
Hoomanawanui didn't crack the stat sheet at all in 2016. The former Patriot battled an injury all season long. He wasn't able to play in any games and he is hopeful he'll be ready to play next year. It'll be quite surprising if the Saints keep him on their roster given the injury history and the possibility of Josh Hill being healthy in time for training camp.
Michael Hoomanawanui was placed on the injured reserve list.
Hoomanawanui suffered a leg injury that threw the Saints backup TE plans for a loop. The move to the IR ends his 2016 season before it begins.
Michael Hoomanawanui was carted to the locker room with an apparent leg injury on Friday.
Saints and TE Michael Hoomanawanui agreed to a three-year contract.
Hoomanawanui was acquired by the Saints last season in a trade with the Patriots and was a solid reserve tight end who can also play some fullback when needed. With Ben Watson signing with the Ravens this off-season Hooman could see an increased role in the Saints offense.
