Michael Bennett
Player News
The Falcons placed Bennett (ankle) on injured reserve Friday.
No surprise here, as Bennett suffered a broken ankle at practice earlier in the week. Injuries have been an issue for Bennett, as he also missed most of the 2017 injury due to a torn pectoral, and was sidelined during OTAs with a hand injury. The 26-year-old will now look forward to at working through another recovery process.
Bennet was released by the Jaguars on Tuesday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
With Fowler returning from his one-game suspension this week, Bennett was released in order to clear a roster spot. Bennett was inactive for Sunday's season opener against the Giants.
Todd Wash will be named Jaguars defensive coordinator.
Wash was previously the defensive line coach for the Jags. The Jags missed on all their veteran targets, forcing them to hire from within. Wash will run the defense in Jacksonville after coaching alongside Gus Bradley for more than 10 years.
Jaguars DT Michael Bennett (hamstring) was out Sunday, but anticipates playing Thursday night.
This could be a boost to a Jaguars defensive line that lost Sen'derrick Marks to a torn tricep against the Ravens. Jacksonville will play on Thursday against divisional rival Tennessee and with the addition of Bennett, they should be able to contain the struggling run game of the Titans.
