Former Chargers and Cardinals C Max Tuerk passed away at the age of 26.

It's terrible and unexpected news, especially on Father's Day. The cause of his death has yet to be released. Tuerk was a standout offensive lineman at USC and was the Chargers' No. 66 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Tuerk struggled to find a role in the league after injuries and a four-game PED suspension stacked up. His professional football career ended with the Cardinals in 2018.

Chargers signed their third-round center Max Tuerk to a four-year deal.

Tuerk was drafted in the third round out of USC and will add depth to the Chargers offensive line where he will compete for reps at the center position during the preseason.
