Matt McGloin
Player News
Raiders are unsure if Matt McGloin (shoulder) will be able to play in next week's Wild Card game.
If he can't suit up, it'll be Connor Cook in his place. Cook came in and there for 150 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in the Raiders' Week 17 loss. It isn't a given that McGloin would start even if he's able to suit up. The Raiders are in trouble.
Matt McGloin (shoulder) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Broncos.
McGloin was starting in place of Derek Carr who won't be able to play in the postseason. Oakland is still trying to earn a first round Bye in the AFC bracket, but it's looking less likely with the Raiders losing to Denver and Kansas City maintaining a lead over San Diego. Connor Cook is now in at QB for Oakland.
Raiders QB Matt McGloin signed his 1-year restricted free agent tender.
McGloin is returning as the Raiders backup QB behind Derek Carr but has no fantasy value unless he can find his way into a starting job which likely would take an injury to Carr.
Matt McGloin completed 23-of-31 passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns with one interception during the Raiders’ 33-13 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.
McGloin wasn't awful during the Bengals' blowout of the Raiders, but he obviously didn't set the world on fire either. McGloin, along with the rest of the fantasy world, will now play the waiting game and see if Derek Carr's injury is serious or not. If so, McGloin will get the start next week, but should obviously be avoided in all fantasy formats.
