49ers signed WR Matt Cole to a two-year contract.

A rookie undrafted free agent, Cole was on the Dolphins' practice squad. The 49ers are getting a jump on their reserve/future contract action as they head into Weeks 16 and 17 out of playoff contention. Already 24, 5-foot-10 Cole entered the league out of small-school McKendree.
