Spaight was placed on the reserve/retired list Monday, Charles Goldman of USA Today reports.
Spaight's career comes to an end after four seasons in the league with the Redskins, Dolphins, Jaguars and Chiefs. The linebacker dealt with concussion issues throughout his time in Washington. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs in early January.
Spaight was waived by Jacksonville on Friday, Phillip Heilman of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Spaight suited up for three games with the Jaguars since signing with the team Nov. 4, playing 32 special-teams snaps during that stretch. The 25-year-old linebacker will search for a depth role elsewhere in the league.
Martell Spaight missed all but 15 minutes of practice on Thursday while getting checked for a concussion. He passed all the tests and returned to the practice field and Head Coach Jay Gruden expects him to be a full participant in Friday's session.
There is a chance Spaight could show symptoms Friday or into the weekend, but for now, he appears to be fine. If Spaight were to miss any time, Su'a Cravens and Terence Garvin could see some more snaps at middle linebacker.

Spaight took a shot to the head and after intense evaluation, the Redskins medical staff, as well as representatives from the NFL, determined that attempting to bring him back this season was going to put his health at too much of a risk. The team will use his roster spot to bring back veteran cornerback Chris Culliver.
