Marques Colston
Player News
Marques Colston is still rehabbing his shoulder.
Colston's days as the No. 1 receiver in an offense are behind him. Colston was thought to be potentially hanging em' up but it appears he's ready for one or two more seasons. Coming back from a shoulder injury and already battling the age factor makes it extremely unlikely we see Colston as a key contributor going forward. It's very possible he ends up on a contender.
Saints have officially released WR Marques Colston.
Colston has gradually dropped out of the Saints offense over the last couple of seasons and this is the final move of that slide. He will be a free agent starting next week free to sign with anyone but he doesn't have more than third string wideout skills anymore. It will be certainly interesting to see where he winds up.
Saints are likely to release WR Marques Colston in the coming days, ESPN reports.
Colston has been with the Saints since being drafted by the team in 2006, but it appears that his days in New Orleans may be finally coming to end. If that's the case, Colston will leave the Saints as its franchise leader in receptions, 711, yards, 9,759 and touchdowns, 72.
Marques Colston (chest) has been ruled out for Week 17.
After getting off to a very slow start in 2015-'16, Colston came on strong at the finish line. He still wasn't the good old possession receiver he's been his whole career, but he did notch three touchdowns in his last two games. Colston only had one receiving game of more than 70 yards. He was the Saints fourth or fifth pass catching option for most of the season.
