Colts released LB Malik Jefferson.
The former third-rounder has had looks with (deep breath): the Bengals, Browns, Chargers, Titans, Chiefs, and Colts since being drafted in 2018. He's a willing special teamer and will try to catch on to yet another elsewhere. The Colts also released T Shon Coleman and waived TE Farrod Green and TE Eli Wolf.
Jefferson was waived by Cleveland on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Jefferson had played only on special teams this season and recorded just one solo tackle for the year all the way back in Week 1. The former Longhorn will now try to latch on with another club.
Jefferson was claimed off waivers by the Browns on Sunday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Jefferson was waived by the Bengals at roster cutdowns Saturday but will get to remain in Ohio. The 2018 third-round pick was limited to a special-teams role as a rookie and had 10 tackles (five solo).
The Bengals waived Jefferson on Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.
The 22-year-old was a special teams stalwart last season, playing 215 snaps, and made 12 tackles. The fact that he was let go by the team comes as a surprise, considering he was expecting to take over an increased role in the defense. The youngster will be an intriguing addition to another defense elsewhere.
