Free agent TE Luke Willson is retiring after eight seasons.
Willson, 31, signed with the Seahawks Tuesday but after one practice decided he's not in it anymore and is hanging up the cleats. The 2013 fifth-rounder of Seattle appeared in 102 career games with the Seahawks, Ravens, and Lions, catching 111 passes for 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Seahawks agreed to terms with TE Luke Willson.
The signing is expected to become official Tuesday afternoon. It is Willson's third tour of duty with the team that drafted him in 2013. He will be on the outside looking in of a 53-man roster spot.
Free agent TE Luke Willson will work out for the Seahawks.
Willson finished the 2020 season with Baltimore after being released by the Seahawks in November. Despite Seattle changing offensive coordinators, Willson will still be more familiar with Seattle's offense than the average free agent. He has played 85 career games for the Seahawks since 2013.
Ravens released DB Jordan Richards.
Baltimore also parted ways with receiver Michael Dereus and offensive tackle Andre Smith. Richards was a core contributor on special teams last year, appearing in all 16 games while logging 334 special teams snaps. Having played for three teams in the past three years, Richards should land on another team's roster before Week 1.
