Kyshoen Jarrett

With the Redskins activating Kory Lichtensteiger off of IR they have placed Kyshoen Jarrett on IR to make room on the active roster. Jarrett finished the season with 58 tackles during his rookie year.

The safety suffered a neck injury during the Week 17 closeout win over the Cowboys and has some lingering nerve issues that are concerning the medical staff. A fellow teammate in starting center Kory Lichtensteiger, suffered a similar injury earlier this season and hasn't played since missing the last three months. Should the Redskins beat the Packers, further evaluation will follow as a determination on Jarrett status will be made once again.

The Redskins secondary took a big hit today with injuries to Jarrett and Dashaun Phillips following helmet-to-helmet collisions. Both players were motionless on the field for some time, although Phillips' injury was a bit worse and he was down longer before getting taken off the field on a stretcher. As for Jarrett, he walked off the field under the strength of trainers looking very dazed. He was evaluated for a concussion and ruled out, which left Washington's already short-handed secondary even more worse off. Jarrett was starting for Dashon Goldson, who was out with a rib injury. It's unclear whether Goldson, Jarrett or Phillips will be available for the Redskins' playoff game next week, but it definitely doesn't look good for the latter two after suffering head/neck injuries. A matchup with either the Packers or Seahawks awaits, so it's of the utmost importance they have all hands on deck in their secondary.
