The first round was designated for all teams to take their quarterback, and the Maulers spent the seventh overall pick on former Giants QB Kyle Lauletta. The former Richmond Spider – who was taken in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft – appeared in two games for New York during his rookie campaign, attempting five passes but failing to record a single completion. He'll now look for a new beginning in the upstart USFL, which is set to kick off in April.

A fourth-round pick in 2018, Lauletta was let go by the Browns earlier today. In addition, the Browns waived/released WR KhaDarel Hodge, DL Sheldon Day, RB Johnny Stanton, LB Elijah Lee, DL Joe Jackson, DL Cameron Malveaux, DL Curtis Weaver, S Jovante Moffatt, DB Elijah Benton, WR Ja'Marcus Bradley, TE Jordan Franks, TE Kyle Markway, G Colby Gossett, LB Willie Harvey, LB Tegray Scales, RB John Kelly, C Javon Patterson, CB Emmanuel Rugamba, and DT Marvin Wilson.

Lauletta was briefly a camp arm. The Falcons are going with only Matt Schaub behind Matt. 

A 2018 fourth-round pick of the Giants, Lauletta hasn't become anything in the NFL. This is his third team in three seasons. He may just be around for a couple days ahead of final cuts in Atlanta.
