Kevin Pierre-Louis (groin) exited Week 2's game against the Broncos and was ruled out.
The veteran had three tackles before leaving in the third quarter. The Texans are deep at linebacker and should be able to absorb the loss fairly well, Blake Cashman looked to be getting most of the snaps replacing him. Pierre-Louis was one of several Texans released by Nick Caserio at last cuts that re-signed with the team after cutdown day.

Pierre-Louis agreed to a restructured contract this offseason, but the move wasn't enough to keep him on their roster. He appeared in nine games for Houston last year, playing almost exclusively on special teams. Once rosters are settled, Pierre-Louis could find a home as a special teams player and reserve linebacker.

Pierre-Louis was set to make $3.5 million, but that has been cut to $2.4 million in exchange for the Texans guaranteeing $1.2 million of it. The veteran linebacker and special teams maven barely saw the field on defense for the Texans last year, getting just 29 defensive snaps. He turns 31 in October.

The free agent addition was sidelined for Week 1. The fact he did not spend Week 1 on I.R. suggests he may be able to return in the minimum of three weeks.
