Whyte ran for one yard on three carries in Sunday's 28-10 loss to the Ravens.
Even with James Conner (quadriceps) inactive, Whyte played a minimal role on offense and finishes the 2019 season with 122 yards on 24 carries in six games. Most of that (84 yards) came in two games in which he also caught his only target for nine yards. The Steelers' backfield is unsettled heading into 2020, but Whyte is unlikely to have a major role.
Whyte rushed six times for 22 yards and wasn't targeted in the passing game in Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Jets.
It's not saying much, but Whyte was the team's most effective option on the ground after James Conner exited with a thigh injury. Whyte had eight more rushing yards on one carry fewer than Benny Snell, while Jaylen Samuels mixed in with seven yards on three carries and 32 more yards on four catches. Even if Conner sits against the Ravens in Week 17, none of the Steelers' other running backs will be advisable options, as nobody has been able to grab the job by the horns.
Whyte ran for five yards on two carries in Pittsburgh's 17-10 loss to Buffalo on Sunday night.
Signed just one month ago to provide depth in Pittsburgh's beleaguered running game, it should come as no surprise that Whyte's role would be greatly diminished by the return of James Conner. At this point there is little reason to have Whyte on fantasy rosters.
Whyte totaled 41 yards on five carries and caught his only target for nine yards in Pittsburgh's 23-17 win over Arizona on Sunday.
Benny Snell continues to be the primary running back with James Conner (shoulder) still unable to play, but Whyte seems to have pulled even with -- if not ahead of -- Jaylen Samuels in the ground game. In the past three games, Whyte has rushed 14 times for 94 yards compared to 54 yards on 16 carries for Samuels. The anticipated return of Conner in Week 15 against the Bills could diminish Whyte's fantasy value while Samuels could still play a role in the passing game.
