Cardinals signed S Kentrell Brice, formerly of the Packers, to a one-year contract.

Brice needs to pass a physical and the COVID-19 testing, but assuming that happens, he will be projected to make the roster as a depth piece in a secondary that struggled defending the tight end in particular last season. Brice needs to showcase special teams ability to guarantee a spot on the roster.

Brice sustained a shoulder injury Aug. 23 in the Buccaneers' third preseason game, but was able to see the field in their finale. The 25-year-old appeared in 36 games for the Packers over the last three seasons, logging 100 total tackles, six pass breakups, an interception and a fumble recovery.

Brice isn't expected to miss significant time due to the injury, according to Greg Auman of The Athletic. He'll aim to get back on the field as soon as possible to continue battling for a depth role within Tampa Bay's secondary.

Brice left last week's game against the Jets after just five snaps, and logged two limited practice sessions before entering the week with a "questionable" tag. He'll end up suiting up for the finale, presumably returning to his role as the starting strong safety.
