Kayvon Webster
Player News
Redskins released CB Kayvon Webster.
29-year-old Webster played 97 snaps across two games (Weeks 16 and 17) for the Redskins at the end of last season. He's no longer a starting-caliber player after getting injured with the Rams a couple seasons ago.
Webster signed with Washington.
Webster has let go by New Orleans towards the end of the preseason. He hasn't played in the NFL this year and will provide depth in Washington's secondary.
Webster was waived by the Saints on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Webster had numerous suitors in the offseason but he's failed to impress in New Orleans. The veteran cornerback played just two games with Houston last season while dealing with a thigh injury but he could provide depth secondary help while healthy. He may catch on with another club early on in the season.
Webster signed a contract with the Saints on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Webster previously visited with the Bears and 49ers before latching on with the Saints. The 28-year-old has played only 13 games over the last two seasons due to an Achilles injury and two quadriceps injuries.
