Davis spent a month on Arizona's practice squad, but he's now been cut to make room for Miles Brown on the unit. The 23-year-old running back will look to catch on in a depth capacity elsewhere in the league.

Davis had a solid performance in the Rams' preseason finale Thursday, rushing 16 times for 78 yards and a touchdown in addition to a 14-yard reception. The 23-year-old had a very slim chance at making Los Angeles' roster -- what with their multitude of options in the backfield -- but now he can focus on developing with Arizona's practice squad.

Davis averaged a respectable 4.9 yards per carry as he easily led the team in rushing yardage. After coming into the game on the team's third possession, he scored on a two-yard touchdown burst in the third quarter before punching in the extra point attempt. While Davis' effort surely caught the eye of the coaching staff, the team already has a multitude of backfield options and could still part ways with him when roster cuts are announced.

Davis missed last week's game after suffering a head injury, but he returned after healing up and led the team in rushing yards while averaging 4.4 yards per carry. He appears to be fully healthy moving forward and will now look to lock up a roster spot at the bottom of a crowded backfield. Davis' next opportunity to stake his claim will come Saturday against the Broncos.
