The former first round pick last played for the Falcons in 2021, completing two of his 11 attempts and throwing two interceptions. Rosen, mercifully, has not chance of seeing playing time in Minnesota. 

Rosen, who was signed on the eve of training camp, couldn't beat out Josh Dobbs for No. 2 duties behind Jacoby Brissett during Deshaun Watson's 11-game suspension. If the 25-year-old couldn't crack this quarterback room, there isn't a team in the league where he is going to be a fit. 

Rosen was brought in for a workout earlier today, along with veteran quarterback A.J. McCarron. Rosen's workout appears to have impressed the Browns enough to give him an opportunity in camp as the team waits to learn the fate of Deshaun Watson. Any speculation that the Browns were interested in a trade for Jimmy Garoppolo can likely be put to bed at this point, as they now enter camp with Watson, Rosen, Jacoby Brissett and Joshua Dobbs on the roster. Barring a camp miracle from Rosen or Dobbs, Brissett should leave camp as the team's QB2 behind Watson.

The Browns are planning for a possible Watson suspension, which would necessitate a new backup quarterback with Jacoby Brissett handling starting duties. There has been speculation that the Browns could be in the mix for Jimmy Garoppolo once he's cleared from his shoulder injury this summer. Bringing in Josh Rosen will do nothing to tamp down that speculation.
