Jets signed WR Josh Reynolds to a one-year contract.
The deal surprisingly includes $2.75 million guaranteed, which suggests a player who was cut by the Broncos in December and Jaguars earlier this month has strong 53-man roster odds. Now on the wrong side of 30, Reynolds does offer plenty of experience as a boundary role player. The Jets are evidently comfortable penciling him into one of their 5-6 receiver spots in what is a really undermanned group behind Garrett Wilson. It goes without saying that Reynolds won’t come into fantasy relevance as a down-ballot player in a limited offense.
Jaguars released WR Josh Reynolds.
Now on the wrong side of 30, Reynolds had two decent years in Detroit from 2022-23 but couldn’t get established with either the Broncos or Jaguars last season. His size and experience will likely keep him in the league another year or two, but it’s obviously a bad sign he’s longer automatically sticking on 53-man rosters.
Jaguars signed WR Josh Reynolds, formerly of the Broncos.
That didn’t take long. Reynolds was released by the Broncos on Tuesday. The field-stretching wide receiver helps replace Gabe Davis (meniscus), who is out for the year. Reynolds is unlikely to be fantasy-relevant with Mac Jones under center, now that Trevor Lawrence (shoulder/concussion) is on injured reserve though.
Broncos waived WR Josh Reynolds.
The Broncos had to either activate Reynolds off IR or end his season, so instead they let him go free. Reynolds’ two-year contract makes it unlikely he’ll be claimed off waivers. The 29-year-old will be free to sign with whoever he wants if he makes it off waivers. His short-lived Broncos career ends with a 12/183/1 line in five games.
