Player News
To correct earlier reports, the agent of Josh Freeman reached out to the Cowboys not the other way around.
Hey, Freeman is looking for a job, so who can blame him for reaching out to the Cowboys in their time of need. With Kellen Moore out indefinitely with a broken ankle, Dallas needs to find a new backup for Tony Romo. Freeman is serviceable, but it seems likely that Jerry Jones will go a different route finding a replacement.
Cowboys have "reached out" to free agent Josh Freeman.
Freeman last started at the end of 2015 for a Colts team that was a revolving door at quarterback. The Cowboys seems to be very desperate to sign a backup QB after not landing Nick Foles. Freeman figures to be a long shot to make the club if he is invited to camp.
Colts released QB Josh Freeman.
After a few solid seasons at the beginning of his career earlier this decade, Freeman's career is in a free fall. To be honest, it's closing in on the end of the free fall, to the point where he may call it quits if he keeps getting cut. Freeman has played in five games since the start of the 2013 season. He'll be lucky to make a team for 2016.
Colts will enter the 2016 season with Josh Freeman as their backup quarterback.
The journeyman quarterback was one of five signal callers who saw time for the Colts last season in the absence of Andrew Luck. Freeman goes into the season as the backup, after the announcement of Matt Hasselbeck not being brought back. His only fantasy value is if Andrew Luck is unable to start, and even then should only be considered in 2 quarterback leagues.
