This is most notable for what it insinuates regarding the expected game-day status of lead back Jerome Ford, who is listed as questionable for Sunday. Kareem Hunt would seemingly be in line to draw the start should Ford be unable to go against the Seahawks, although Pierre Strong is also on hand for early down work.

The five-year veteran has appeared in 54 games as a professional, all but one of which came as a member of the Colts. He has largely served as a backup throughout his career having started only four games. Wilkins will likely be competing with Demetric Felton and John Kelly for a depth role behind Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford.

Wilkins will likely be the No. 3 back behind Zack Moss and Deon Jackson after Jonathan Taylor (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday morning. Wilkins has bounced between the practice squad and active roster this season, seeing six carries and five targets in two games. He would be forced into action if Jackson or Moss get dinged up. 

Jonathan Taylor continues to nurse a lingering ankle issue that required an in-game wrapping last week against Washington and then forced him to DNP Wednesday. Wilkins will join Taylor, Deon Jackson, and newly-acquired Zack Moss in the Colts' backfield. Wilkins hasn't played in a regular season game since 2020, when he ran for 308 yards on 84 carries and caught 12 of 16 targets for 105 yards for the Colts.
