Jordan Morgan
Player News
Panthers promoted assistant GM Dan Morgan to President of football operations/general manager.
A former first-round pick of the Panthers in 2001, Morgan spent nine seasons in the league as a player and retired after the 2009 season. He joined the Seahawks as a scouting intern in 2010 and was promoted to director of pro personnel in 2015 before joining the Bills as their director of player personnel in 2018. The Panthers hired Morgan as their assistant general manager in 2021, pairing him with now-former GM Scott Fitterer in the same season. The Panthers promoting Morgan makes for an interesting decision, given his involvement with the team over the last three seasons. Under the duo of Fitterer and Morgan, the Panthers have gone a combined 14-37 and earned the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft — which belongs to the Bears. With Fitterer now gone, it will be interesting to see if the team is able to turn the corner with Morgan at the helm.
The Panthers interviewed assistant general manager Dan Morgan and vice president of football administration Samir Suleiman for their open general manager position.
The Panthers parted ways with Scott Fitterer after three seasons, starting in 2021 and ending with a league-worst 2-14 team in 2023. Internal front office candidates Dan Morgan and Samir Suleiman were interviewed for the open position. Morgan in particular was interviewed by the Steelers for their GM position in 2022 and he is once again on the GM radar for the Panthers, who first hired him in 2021.
