Jonathan Grimes

Texans RD Jonathan Grimes has been battling an illness all week, and missed practice on Thursday due to it. Saturday he was officially ruled out of Monday nights' game against the Raiders. This also goes for RB Alfred Blue, setting the stage for Akeem hunt, and to a lesser degree, Tyler Ervin to receive some touches behind starter Lamar Miller.

Grimes did not practice this week and thus his being ruled out against the Jaguars is not a shocker. Look for the Texans to rely upon Alfred Blue and Tyler Ervin to back up starting RB Lamar Miller.

After missing their Week 7 game, Grimes could suit up this week against the Lions. Though he'll only be used in passing down situations, he'll still add depth to the Texans running-back position along with seeing a slight uptick in snaps if Miller isn't a full-go.

Grimes would be intriguing in PPR leagues if Lamar Miller went down, but until then, it could not matter less whether he plays or not. Jay Prosch may get a couple of touches if Grimes is out again.
