Saints signed LB Jon Bostic.

Bostic played the last three years with Washington, but appeared in only four games last year after tearing his pectoral muscle. There's not much veteran depth behind Pete Werner and Demario Davis, so Bostic might have a real shot at a roster spot despite the late signing.

Redskins re-signed LB Jon Bostic to a two-year, $5 million contract.

The deal includes $1.75 million guaranteed. Bostic was PFF's No. 64 overall LB among 99 qualified players in 2019. The former-Bears LB has played 86 games since 2013, racking up at least 50 tackles in all but two seasons. Of course, the league's No. 24 overall defense in DVOA will need to do more in order to fix the unit ahead of the 2020 season.

Bostic started all 16 games for Washington in 2019, accruing 105 tackles (56 solo), one sack and one interception while playing 91.1 percent of defensive snaps.

The 28-year-old signed a one-year contract in May, shortly after the team lost Reuben Foster to an ACL tear. Mason Foster was released shortly thereafter, leaving Bostic, Cole Holcomb and Shaun Dion Hamilton to take most of the snaps at inside linebacker. Holcomb served as the run thumper and Hamilton as the coverage specialist, with Bostic landing somewhere in between and thus getting the most snaps of the bunch. With his contract expiring and a new coaching staff in town, Bostic won't necessarily stick around in Washington for 2020.

Bostic made five tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 41-35 loss to the Giants.

Bostic has been credited with at least five tackles in four-straight games and has not logged fewer than four since Week 1. Each new tackle he makes is a new career high and his next one will be his 100th of the season.
