Wiltz (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.
Wiltz went down with the shoulder injury Week 16 and will be unable to play in the season finale. The 25-year-old finishes the 2019 campaign with 58 tackles (39 solo) and one interception in 14 games.
Wiltz (shoulder) is ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Bengals, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
Wiltz recorded three tackles (two solo) before leaving the contest, upping his total to 58 stops and six pass breakups this year. He consistently lines up as a starter on the Dolphins' defense, so Tae Hayes and Linden Stephens should see upticks in usage during Wiltz's absence.
Wiltz tallied 10 tackles -- one for a loss -- in Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Bills.
When a cornerback is second on the team in tackles, it likely means he struggled in coverage during the outing. Wiltz has allowed a 101.9 passer rating when targeted this year, including a modest 7.3 yards per target.
Wiltz logged a season high nine tackles (six solo) to go along with one pass defensed and an interception in Sunday's 26-18 win over the Jets.
Wiltz had a career day as the Dolphins' starting cornerback notched his first NFL interception and nearly doubled his previous season high in tackles with nine. He's now amassed four total passes defensed over the past two weeks.
