John Sullivan
Player News
Former Vikings C John Sullivan is signing with the Redskins Tuesday.
The Redskins' regular starter in the middle of the line, Kory Lichtensteiger, is battling what is being described as a "moderate" calf injury at the moment. With Washington thin along the offensive line, it makes sense they would bring in an outside option. Sullivan played in all but three games for the Vikings between the 2009 and 2014 NFL seasons prior to missing the entirety of the 2015 season with a back injury. Washington could do far worse for a fill-in candidate at Center.
Vikings have released John Sullivan.
Just one day after news broke that the Vikings were looking to trade their veteran center John Sullivan, they wound up releasing him instead. Sullivan who was a sixth round pick by the Vikings in 2008, missed all of last season with a back injury. He came back this preseason and played in the first two games, hoping to pick up where he left off. However the team elected to go with Joe Berger in his place.
Vikings hope to trade John Sullivan.
The Vikings are looking to move their 31-year old center as soon as possible. They are high on Joe Berger who will slide into the starting position.
Vikings center John Sullivan has dropped 20 pounds and is in great shape after missing last season with back surgery.
Sullivan sat out all of 2015, with Joe Berger handing the starting center duties in his stead. If Sullivan is available after rehabbing his back, he will step back in as the starting center for the Vikings.
