A 2016 fourth-rounder, Hawkins was traded to the Bucs at final cuts last year. He appeared in one game and wasn't re-signed this offseason. Hawkins has missed two full seasons to injury and hasn't shown much when on the field. He would be a depth option behind Laremy Tunsil and Tytus Howard. 

Hawkins' absence will continue as he has yet to be active for a game this season. Donovan Smith will man left tackle as the team takes on the Falcons.

This is a tough blow for the rookie and the depth of the Steelers line. The Steelers are very weak at right tackle and it's an issue that needs to be addressed. With cuts coming starting up, expect them to pick up a RT who doesn't make it elsewhere.

The Steelers have dealt with numerous injuries to their offensive line over the past few seasons so Hawkins will have a chance to fit into their rotation during his rookie year.
