Free agent OL Jerald Hawkins visited with the Texans.
A 2016 fourth-rounder, Hawkins was traded to the Bucs at final cuts last year. He appeared in one game and wasn't re-signed this offseason. Hawkins has missed two full seasons to injury and hasn't shown much when on the field. He would be a depth option behind Laremy Tunsil and Tytus Howard.
Hawkins (coach's decision) is inactive for the team's Week 12 contest against the Falcons, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Hawkins' absence will continue as he has yet to be active for a game this season. Donovan Smith will man left tackle as the team takes on the Falcons.
Steelers placed fourth-round rookie tackle Jerald Hawkins (shoulder) on injured reserve.
This is a tough blow for the rookie and the depth of the Steelers line. The Steelers are very weak at right tackle and it's an issue that needs to be addressed. With cuts coming starting up, expect them to pick up a RT who doesn't make it elsewhere.
Steelers signed their fourth-round pick Jerald Hawkins.
The Steelers have dealt with numerous injuries to their offensive line over the past few seasons so Hawkins will have a chance to fit into their rotation during his rookie year.
