Jarron Jones
Player News
Steelers signed OT Jarron Jones.
Jones is the ninth former-XFL player that the Steelers have added to their roster. It remains to be see how many, if any, will make the final roster after August cuts.
Jones was waived by the Lions on Thursday, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.
Jones signed a future/reserve contract with the Lions on Dec. 31 of 2018 -- barely five months ago -- but is now a free agent again. The Notre Dame product was originally a defensive end but began the transition to the offensive line. Whether Jones signs with another team -- and what side of the ball he would play on -- should become more clear as the offseason rolls on.
Jones signed a reserve/future contract with the Lions on Monday.
Now in Detroit, it isn't clear if Jones (6-foot-6, 320 pounds) will continue his attempted transition to offensive tackle after spending his college career at Notre Dame as a defensive end. We should know more as the offseason unfolds.
