James Wright
Player News
The Colts released Wright (knee) after he failed a physical Tuesday, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.
Wright landed on injured reserve with a knee injury before the 2018 season, and he's likely still battling this condition. Once he gets healthy, he'll look for a depth role elsewhere. Since entering the league in 2014, Wright has suited up in 24 games and caught 18 passes for 197 yards and zero touchdowns.
James Wright (knee) did not practice Thursday.
Wright is extremely far down the Bengals depth chart, so him missing the game is not significant in fantasy.
James Wright returned to practice on Wednesday.
Wright suffered a serious knee injury back in November of 2014 and was believed to be healthy going into the 2015 season, but his knee hadn't healed properly and he required microfracture surgery which cost him the entire 2015 season. He's now 20 months removed from his last practice with the Bengals, but his return to practice today is a great sign. The 24-year-old appeared in 11 games for Cincinnati in 2014, catching three balls for 59 yards in the game where he suffered his knee injury. He isn't someone that has significant fantasy value at the moment but it will be interesting to see what his role will be in the Bengals offense this year.
James Wright (knee) was cleared to practice Monday.
Wright missed all of the 2015 season due to microfracture surgery but will return to practice Monday having last seen action on the practice field in November of 2014. The Bengals WR corps is going through a bit of a transition period, with Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones leaving through free agency, so an opportunity may well exist for Wright.
