Lions waived TE Hunter Bryant.
Bryant missed time early in his rookie season with hamstring and head injuries before appearing in just five games. Bryant's injury history dates back to his college days and the Lions waived him with an injury designation. It looks like Bryant has simply been unable to take the field so far, let alone prove his talent. He caught one pass as a rookie and will likely be signed as a camp body by another team.
Hunter Bryant didn't catch his lone target in the Lions' Week 17 loss to the Vikings.
It was a lost season for the undrafted free agent. Bryant appeared in just fives games after missing time with hamstring and head injuries. His troubling injury history partially explained why he wasn’t drafted after multiple productive seasons at Washington. The Lions likely view Bryant as a pass-receiving tight end project, but he’s primarily off the dynasty radar with T.J. Hockenson set to dominate tight end snaps for the foreseeable future.
Lions TE Hunter Bryant is active for Week 13 against Chicago.
Bryant will make his debut after missing time with concussion and hamstring injuries. The undrafted rookie could see a few targets in a Lions offense that doesn't have much behind T.J. Hockenson. Chicago's defense has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season.
Lions activated TE Hunter Bryant (concussion) from injured reserve.
Bryant will return to full practice this week. The undrafted rookie has been sidelined all year with concussion and hamstring injuries. Bryant will be making his debut whenever he gets cleared to play.
