Signed in May, Langi was an every-down player for the Jets in six 2020 starts before going on IR with a neck injury. The Patriots claimed Dolphins wide receiver Malcolm Perry on waivers, and with wideout N'Keal Harry going on IR, Patriots beat reporters believe a roster spot may suddenly appear for Langi before the season starts. The day after final cuts is a day of careful maneuvering.   

It's a reunion of sorts as Langi initially signed with New England as a UDFA in 2017 before accruing a career-high 60 tackles with the Jets just last year. His status remains unclear after he suffered a season-ending neck injury in December.

Injury turned Langi into an every-down player down the stretch last season before he suffered a neck injury of his own. His current health situation is unclear. The former UDFA turns 29 in September. He has made nine career starts. 

The 2017 UDFA has been an every-down player over the past month. 2020 is the first time Langi has seen extensive playing time. He has been a liability for one of the league's worst defenses. Already 28, a neck issue bodes poorly for Langi's NFL future.
