Haloti Ngata
Player News
If Detroit wins the Super Bowl, Haloti Ngata said he will consider retiring.
Ngata turns 33 yrs old next month, and has been a key part of the Raven's and Lion's defenses for the past 11 seasons, but still plans to play next season. If somehow, the Lions can make a postseason run, and win a ring, expect Ngata to call it a career. He has one year left on his current contract, but is concentrating on the Lion's matchup at Seattle on Saturday night.
Haloti Ngata says he's closer to returning after missing three games with a shoulder injury.
After getting in practice last week, Ngata's almost back to full strength. He'll likely sit out again in Week 9, however, especially with a bye week coming in Week 10. If he does sit out Week 9, he'll be back to full strength, ready for the Lions playoff push come Week 11.
Haloti Ngata (shoulder) is inactive for Week 8.
Ngata will miss his 3rd straight game for Detroit which hurts the Lions pass rush. This defensive unit is also missing some significant pieces in the secondary so it'll be interesting to see if the Texans can score on a beat up Detroit defense.
Haloti Ngata (shoulder) will not play in Week 7.
Ngata was expected to be out of action for two to three weeks, after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 5 against the Eagles. He has a good shot to be back at defensive tackle in Week 8, so long as there is no regression in his recovery. Khyri Thornton will likely handle the duties at right DT against the visiting Washington team in Week 7.
After suffering a shoulder injury, Detroit Lions DT Haloti Ngata, was given a 2-3 week timetable for his return. Although he has been ruled out for their Week 7 game against the Washington Redskins, and he missed last weeks match up as well, there appears to be some optimism that he could return in Week 8.
