Hakeem Nicks

The Saints had signed the 28-year-old wide receiver in just about a week ago but he only lasted eight practices with the team. According to reports, he was unimpressive during his brief time, having a few drops and a fumble or two all the while failing to separate in one-on-one drills. New Orleans used the open roster spot to bring back Long Snapper Chris Highland on Monday. Nicks will now have to sign with another team this preseason if he hopes to play this season.

After the Saints decided not to sign veteran Wide Receiver Anquan Boldin, they went out and signed Hackeem Nicks to fill in for Vincent Brown’s spot on the 90-man Roster. The 28 year-old played in six games for the Giants last year, but only caught 7 passes for 54 yards. Nicks will have to earn a roster spot in training camp, competing for the fifth Wide Receiver slot behind Cooks, Snead, Coleman and Thomas.

A big bodied receiver that has pretty much boom-or-bust his entire career could find himself with an extensive role with the Bengals. That i before they draft a WR in the draft. Nicks could never live up to the hype he had even opposite receivers like Odell Beckham Jr, Victor Cruz, and T.Y. Hilton. With the Bengals losing their No. 2 and No. 3 receiver in free agency, they could give Nicks a one-year prove-it deal while they groom the receiver they are bound to take in the draft at the end of April. As of right now, Nicks can't be trusted beyond a WR3.

Nicks was signed by the Giants a few weeks ago and has a history of playing with Eli Manning before. Nicks has big shoes to fill as he will take the place of Odell Beckham JR. Nicks has some fantasy value across the board as the Giants will need someone to try and fill the Beckham void for Sunday Nights matchup vs the Vikings.
