Cowboys signed OL Hakeem Adeniji, formerly of the Browns, to a contract.
The former 2020 sixth-round pick last took regular season snaps in 2022. Adeniji spent the 2023 season serving as a part-time special teams player, and although he was technically on the Browns’ 2024 roster, he missed the full season on injured reserve. Adeniji will likely handle a deep-backup/special teams role in Dallas this year.
Browns agreed to terms with OT Hakeem Adeniji, formerly of the Vikings.
Adeniji is a former sixth-round pick of the Bengals, starting 15 of 39 games with them in three seasons. He signed with the Vikings’ practice squad for 2023, signing to the active roster later in the season and appearing in four games. Adeniji will be tackle depth for a Bengals team that saw several injuries to their tackles in 2023.
Bengals coach Zac Taylor said OL Hakeem Adeniji (pectoral) could miss the rest of the season.
Adeniji is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery earlier this month. The 2020 sixth-rounder made five starts last year and was expected to open the season in a swing role. Adeniji will likely be replaced by rookie D'Ante Smith.
