Gary Barnidge
Player News
Barnidge will work out with the Jaguars on Tuesday, July 25, Mike Kaye of First Coast News reports.
Gary Barnidge (knee) participated in practice Tuesday.
The tight end was a popular DFS option in Week 12 with the return of Josh McCown at quarterback and going up against a Giants defense that struggles against tight ends. However, as he has been all season, Barnidge was a huge disappointment as he only caught one pass prior to tweaking his knee. The Browns are on a bye this week so Barnidge should be fine moving forward, but fantasy owners shouldn't rely on a player who hasn't caught more than three passes since Week 7.
Gary Barnidge had to split snaps in Week 12 due to a "tweak" in his knee.
It was weird to see Josh McCown only target Barnidge three times on Sunday as we've come to expect McCown's favorite pass catcher to be heavily involved in the offense. Now we've learned why and we can kind of overlook this dud performance. If Barnidge is cleared of his knee injury and McCown remains the QB going forward, we can hop back on the Barnidge train as he'll be extremely low owned in DFS for Week 13.
Gary Barnidge is active for Week 6.
Barnidge has been banged up this week as he's been dealing with ankle, arm, and hip injuries but he will be active for the Browns Week 6 tilt against the Titans. The 31-year-old has yet to find the end zone for Cleveland this season, but he's been targeted at least five times in four straight games. The Titans have been fantastic this season against tight ends, allowing just an average of 6.8 fantasy points per game, so Barnidge is not someone that I'd consider using for daily fantasy purposes this week.
