2024 Player Outlook
2023 was more of the same from Gabe Davis as he finished with 45 catches for 746 yards and seven touchdowns for the Bills. Davis has scored seven touchdowns in three of the four years he's been in the NFL but as a downfield receiver the targets, receptions and yards have been inconsistent. In 2024 we see Davis moving on from Buffalo and heading to Jacksonville where he will be their outside receiver and downfield threat. That said, I don't expect this big boom in production to ever come for Davis. He's a rich mans Marquez Valdes-Scantling. He will stretch the field, make some long touchdown catches but overall be too inconsistent to trust on a week-to-week basis, especially as he competes for targets with first round pick Brian Thomas Jr. and Christian Kirk.

Jaguars HC Liam Coen mentioned Parker Washington and Dyami Brown as receivers who could serve as the team’s primary WR2.
It’s possible we’re reading too much into an April quote, but it’s something worth keeping in mind. When asked about who he views as the Jaguars’ primary options for the WR2, Coen said, “I think you look naturally now at Parker Washington and Dyami Brown at the receiver positions,” failing to mention last year’s WR2, Gabe Davis. Davis, whom the Jaguars signed to a three-year, $39 million contract last offseason, was woefully disappointing in his first season in Duval. He caught 20 passes for 239 yards and two scores while appearing in 10 games, but was shut down after Week 11 due to a torn meniscus. Washington enters his third year as a pro and has shown flashes in each of his first two seasons in the league, while Brown is entering his first year with the Jaguars after signing a fully guaranteed one-year, $10 million contract in the offseason. With the draft still to go, it’s possible Coen and his new regime are putting together a room of preferred names at receiver, and Davis could be on the outs. Coen failing to mention Davis may have been little more than an oversight, but there’s little reason to believe his role as the team’s WR2 is secure following last year’s performance.
Jaguars coach Doug Pederson said Gabe Davis (meniscus) is out for the season.
Davis ends his first year in Jacksonville with nine starts, 20 catches, and 239 yards with two scores. He played at least 69 percent of the snaps in every game he finished and never had more than five catches in any game, settling for a one-catch game on four separate occasions. For the privilege, Davis got a $10 million signing bonus. One of Trent Baalke’s greatest follies yet — and that’s saying something — Davis will almost undoubtedly be brought back on a $6.7 million cap figure next year since cutting him would cost the Jaguars $13.6 million in cap space. In his absence, look for Tim Jones and Devin Duvernay to get more run. No Jaguars are truly fantasy viable while Mac Jones is leading the charge.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Jaguars believe Gabe Davis suffered a torn meniscus in Week 11’s loss to the Lions.
Gabe Davis suffered a knee injury in Week 11 against the Lions and will not return.
Davis went down with a non-contact knee injury in the third quarter and was ruled out almost immediately. The Jags were well into garbage time when Davis went down, but that doesn’t appear to be why he is done for the day. The Jaguars are on bye next week, giving Davis an extra week of rest if the injury isn’t a long-term issue. Tim Jones and Parker Washington will see more work in his absence.
