49ers have signed G/T Erik Pears to a two-year deal.
The former Bills left tackle will head acorss the country to join the 49ers. He will compete for the starting job once in camp and is very likely to win it outright.
The 49ers and offensive lineman Erik Pears have reached an agreement on a two-year deal.
The 32-year-old veteran still has some gas left in the tank, certainly. A team can never have enough depth on the line, and Pears will provide depth while competing for a starting role.
Free-agent T Erik Pears had visited with the 49ers earlier in the week. He is also drawing interest from the Jets and Broncos.
The former Bills offensive lineman is a popular guy right now and will continue to shop himself around the NFL. At 32-years old, he's looking to land one final big deal for himself.

Pears landed the starting right tackle job after Chris Hairston was lost to injury. Pears would have been competing with him anyway, so he may have even won the job outright. Perhaps the Bills are looking elsewhere though which is why there's been no progress towards a new deal.
