Chiefs signed RB Elijah McGuire to the practice squad.
McGuire was with the Chiefs in 2019 and 2020 but hasn't taken a regular season snap since the 2018 season. Familiar with Andy Reid's playbook, McGuire at least offers insurance in the short-term in place of Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee, week-to-week).
Chiefs re-signed RB Elijah McGuire to a one-year contract.
The 26-year-old veteran hasn't taken a regular season rep since December 2018. He'll likely land on Kansas City's practice squad given Darrel Williams' return on a one-year deal.
Chiefs brought in free agent RB Elijah McGuire for a visit.
The team is looking to add running back depth after losing Clyde Edwards-Helaire to hip and ankle injuries in Week 15. McGuire spent the end of the 2019 season with Kansas City before signing with the Dolphins this season. The veteran started five games for the Jets in 2017 and 2018. If the Chiefs sign him, McGuire probably won't be activated to the game day roster unless Le'Veon Bell or Darrel Williams miss time. Kansas City hope to have CEH back for the playoffs.
Dolphins promoted RB Elijah McGuire from the practice squad.
It is the corresponding roster move to Myles Gaskin landing on the COVID-19 list. Formerly hamstring-hobbled DeAndre Washington will lead the Dolphins' backfield against the Chiefs, but Patrick Laird and McGuire will be waiting in the wings. Even were Washington to suffer an early aggravation, it is unlikely McGuire would see enough work to generate FLEX value.
