Donald Stephenson
Player News
Donald Stephenson (calf) is looking to return in Week 5.
This is a departure from what was being reported earlier in the week. He appears to have suffered a setback in his recovery from his calf issue. Ty Sambrailo will replace Stephenson at right tackle when the Broncos take on the Bengals on the road.
Donald Stephenson suffered a calf injury that could keep him out 2-4 weeks.
Stephenson was seen leaving the locker room on Sunday in a walking boot and on crutches. Michael Schofield slid over from RG to assume Stephenson's RT position, something that Denver could do again while Stephenson is out.
Donald Stephenson is dealing with a calf issue. He'll miss a few days of practice.
It may have been the calf injury that led to his less than stellar performance at camp on Friday. He is still projected as the starting right tackle for the Broncos this season, but will need a few days to recover.
Donald Stephenson is not in pads at Broncos practice on Saturday.
Stephenson is expected to start at right tackle for the Broncos when the season opens. He reportedly had a bad day holding off the rushing attack by linebackers Von Miller and Shaquil Barrett. Perhaps he was hiding an injury, leading to his not practicing in pads on Saturday, or maybe the coaching staff is trying to send him a message. He has not served as a starter in his career, mostly due to injuries, so this is a situation to watch as camp goes forward.
