Devin Smith
Player News
Smith finished the 2019 season having caught five of nine targets for 113 yards and a touchdown through four games.
The former Jet hadn't played in an NFL game since 2016, but after a strong showing in training camp and the preseason, Smith began the year on the 53-man roster and showed flashes of his promise as a deep threat by hauling in his second career TD in Week 2. By Week 5, however, he was inactive and didn't see another snap the rest of the season. With both Amari Cooper and Randall Cobb free agents this offseason, there could be openings on the depth chart ahead of him heading into 2020, but Smith would still be a longshot to have significant fantasy value.
Smith (knee) was credited with a full practice Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Smith's status is merely an estimation as the Cowboys would not practice until later Wednesday afternoon. While the 27-year-old has recovered from his injury, he is still unlikely to be active Week 17.
Smith picked up a knee injury and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Smith was added to the injury report Thursday as a limited participant and his availability for Sunday remains up in the air. The 27-year-old hasn't seen game action since Week 4, so there's a good chance he'll be inactive regardless of his injury status this weekend.
Smith (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Eagles, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Smith got a chance early in the season when Michael Gallup was sidelined. That said, Gallup is available Sunday for a third straight game, ensuring Smith is a part of the inactive list. This may be Smith's reality without an absence from Gallup.
