Devin Hester said he plans on retiring.
There has been large speculation around Hester that planned on making the 2016 season his last in the NFL. Now, it appear that is certainly the case. The 34-year-old veteran is unquestionably among the top handful of return specialist in the history of the league, as he will wrap up his career with 14 punt-return touchdowns and five kickoff-return touchdowns. Hester has also piled up better than 3,300 receiving yards and 16 touchdown receptions over the past 11 seasons.
Devin Hester will be active for Saturday's game.
Hester was signed just recently by Seattle in an effort to sure up their return game with Tyler Lockett on I.R. at this point. With very little practice needed for him to be the main return man on kickoffs and punts it's not surprising that he will be active for the game against Detroit. He was released by Baltimore earlier in the season for lackluster results on returns so only time will tell if he will be effective or not.
Seahawks have signed Devin Hester for the playoffs.
Hester has made his living as one of the better return men the league has seen. His role with the Seahawks will be no different with Tyler Lockett done for the season. Hester's skill set mostly impacts Seattle D/ST for playoff formats, as he still has the ability to take one to the house.
Devin Hester worked out for the Patriots on Thursday.
The Ravens released Hester earlier this week and the Patriots are the first team to show some interest. The Patriots are without Danny Amendola and looking for a return specialist. Hester is out of his prime but he is the greatest returner ever so maybe he still has some left in the tank.
