David Nelson
Player News
Steelers have released David Nelson.
At the beginning of his career, David Nelson looked like he had a chance to make it in the league in a limited role for a WR needy team. He has bounced around from a couple teams in the NFL including the Bills and Jets before going to the Steelers. Nelson went un-drafted out of Florida before being signed by the Bills and playing in 15 games for them. Don't be surprised to see a team swoop him up as he has experience and a shot to play with 50 games under his belt and production of 138 receptions, 1, 530 reception yards, and 10 TDs.
David Nelson (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
The injury will end Nelson's season before it even began. There was zero fantasy value here even while healthy as he found himself low on the Steelers wide receiver depth chart.
David Nelson’s shoulder injury could be serious, he is getting MRI this week.
Nelson appeared in six games for the Jets last season, catching eight passes for 65 yards. He was down on the Steelers depth chart heading into training camp and a serious shoulder injury could result in a trip to the IR.
Steelers have signed WR David Nelson.
Nelson was last seen with the Jets before being released last fall. He caught 61 passes for 658 yards and 5 TDs with the Bills back in 2011, but he won't have a role in Pittsburgh if he makes the final 53 at all.
