Player News
Cardinals waived/released RB D.J. Foster, S Kentrell Brice, DL Jonathan Bullard, TE Dylan Cantrell, DL Trevon Coley, CB Ken Crawley, WR Johnnie Dixon, CB Chris Jones, OL Koda Martin, WR Andre Patton, WR A.J. Richardson, LB Reggie Walker, RB Jonathan Ward, WR JoJo Ward, LB Evan Weaver and CB Jace Whittaker.
Foster's release means rookie Eno Benjamin has made the team. Foster is healthy after battling a hamstring injury last season. He will cool his heels as the No. 4 back on the practice squad.
Cardinals re-signed RB D.J. Foster to a one-year contract.
Foster spent the second half of 2019 on injured reserve with a hamstring injury and will go into the 2020 offseason competing for No. 3 duties behind Kenyan Drake and Chase Edmonds. Most of his value to Arizona will come on special teams.
Foster (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Monday, Scott Bordow of The Athletic reports.
Foster missed the last two games with the hamstring issue and now is likely to be sidelined for the rest of the season. Kenyan Drake was acquired from Miami (pending a physical) to bolster Arizona's running game while David Johnson (ankle) and Chase Edmonds (hamstring) nurse injuries.
Foster (hamstring) was ruled out for Sunday's contest at New Orleans, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Foster hasn't practiced since he was listed as limited on the Cardinals' injury report Thursday, Oct. 17. Prior to that point, he was contained to just special teams, but the fact David Johnson (ankle) received just three snaps on offense Week 7 against the Giants would have opened the door for Foster to contribute on offense behind Chase Edmonds. Instead, Foster will miss a second game in a row while Johnson enters this weekend as questionable to suit up again.
